Room FAQs

Opening Days

  • We are open Wednesday night through to Saturday night inclusive. 
  • We are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. 

Our Booking Policy

  • Guests can book a room up to 1 year in advance. 
  • To make a reservation we require credit or debit card details.
  • We take full payment at the point of booking for both Bed & Breakfast, as well as any extras that have been pre-ordered. 
  • Any food, drink, and extras ordered on site are paid for when guests come to check-out.
  • Guests wishing to dine with us should make a separate booking in the restaurant for Lunch or Dinner during their stay. 

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancelled rooms are fully refundable (less our cancellation fee) up to 14 days prior to arrival and 50% refundable 7 days prior to arrival. Any cancellations or no-show made after this time will be charged for the entire stay on the card provided at booking.
  • We charge a cancellation fee of 1.5% of the room booking value to cover the transaction costs from our payment gateway. 

Minimum Stays

  • There is no minimum stay, guests are welcome to stay for one night or more as they wish. 

Room Occupancy

  • We have two rooms, Ash & Sessile, that can be made up with Twin Beds if required. You will be able to let us know of this requirement during the booking process. 
  • All of our rooms are available for booking as single or double occupancy.
  • If guests book a room for single occupancy but need to change to double, they will be asked to make us aware so we can accommodate catering and housekeeping. 
  • If we find additional guests have been staying in the bedrooms, guests will be charged accordingly at check out.

Our Breakfast

  • Breakfast is included with your Room Reservation and served Thursday – Sunday mornings, in our Dining Room from 8am – 10am.
  • Much like our restaurant menu, our breakfast shifts with the seasons and the produce of our suppliers, but will include things such as:
  1. A selection of yoghurt, granola and fruit compotes.
  2. An optional ‘main course’, for want of a better phrase, which could include house smoked trout, glazed ham, Gloucester Old Spot sausage or similar. We’ll also ensure to have plenty of our sourdough and a appropriate dietary options available. Please do ensure to inform us of any requirements before your arrival.
  3. Cafetiere Coffee, tea & a selection of local soft drinks to keep you refreshed, or ward off the previous evening’s excesses.

In-Room Amenities

  • As well as a selection of curated artworks and locally made objects to welcome you to our little corner of Somerset, you’ll also find the following bits and pieces to help you feel at home:
    • A selection of toiletries from our friends at Haeckels
    • Complimentary teas from Canton, coffee from Clifton and milk from our neighbours, Holy Cow.
    • A fully stocked mini-bar with a curated selection of our favourite drinks & snacks, run on an honesty system, to be settled at the end of your stay.

Accessibility

  • Due to the original layout of our property, we are unfortunately unable to offer easy access to our rooms for guests with mobility issues. On the ground floor and restaurant we have level access and accessible toilets and can accommodate to all accessibility needs.  For those wishing to book a room we ask they contact us in advance of booking so that we can advise. 

Our Family Policy

  • We welcome families with children & babies, but unfortunately can’t accommodate everyone in all rooms.
  • For Toddlers & Infants under 3, they can be accommodated in all but our cosiest room, Juniper, with the provision of a Cot and a little breakfast in the morning is charged at £25 per night.
  • For older children under 12 years of age, they can be accommodated in three of our rooms, namely Elm, Rowan & Hornbeam, with provision of a larger bed and similarly larger breakfast charged at £50 per night.
  • Any children over the age of 12 must be booked with their own room.
  • To prepare appropriately, please note that we require 48 hours notice for bookings with children or babies. 

Pets

  • We’re very happy to invite well-behaved pets to join us at Holm, but can only accommodate them in our largest room, Elm, with the following guidance to be followed.
    • Pets are strictly not allowed on beds and sofas
    • We do not provide beds for four legged friends, so please do bring your own. 
    • An additional cleaning charge of £50 per pet joining us will be added to your room bill
    • Pets should always be kept on a lead or in a carrier in public areas
    • Pets must be supervised at all times
    • Owners should pick up any ‘deposits’ left by their pets
    • Please make every effort to keep your pets from barking indoors
    • If your pet is responsible for any damage within the premises then you will be charged for repair/damage

Parking & Arrival

  • The easiest place to park for access via our lovely Garden & Terrace is Prigg Lane Car Park. There are two electric car chargers available here. Once you’ve parked, simply head up the garden and in via the Terrace door and one of the team will be ready to greet you.
  • There is also a larger car park to be found on the corner of St. James Street & Prigg Lane. From here, simply walk up St. James Street for 30 seconds and you’ll be at our distinctive teal front door. Pop your head in and say hello to the team.
  • In the unlikely event that both are full, happily there is on-street car parking available throughout the village. Please do just check for any restrictions.

Check-in/out

  • Check-in is from 3pm – 6pm.  
  • Check-out is at 10am. 
  • If you think you may arrive later than 6pm, please do let us know and we can make suitable arrangements. Please note that we will be unable to accommodate check-ins after 11pm.
  • You are welcome to leave your bags with us at any time.

      Early Check-Out

      • If you would like to check out before 8am on the morning of your departure, please speak to one of the team, who will help you settle your bill the night before. 

        In case of emergency

        • There is an emergency phone which will be held by one of the team living in the local area. 
        • The number is listed in your arrival pack in the room
        • Please use this only in the case of fire or medical emergencies.

        • The restaurant is open for orders at the following times:

        Room Service 

        • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer room service at Holm. 

        Drinks in the Bar

        • We are able to serve drinks, both alcoholic and soft, in our bar from 8am – 11pm. 
        • All drinks can be charged directly to a guest’s room or you may choose to settle as you go.

        Lost Property

        • We will post any lost property back to guests but postage and packaging will be charged and we will not be liable for any lost property. 

        Smoking

        • We kindly ask that guests refrain from smoking inside. If you need to smoke, please ensure that it is outside away from other guests and please use the ashtrays provided. 

        Damages

        • Should any damages or theft be made to the property by guests or their pets during their stay, guests are fully liable and will be charged in full to cover the costs incurred.
